    Mrs. Shahida Parveen

    Deputy Commissioner

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has come a long way since its establishment in the year 1963, when 20 regimental schools run by Ministry of Defence were brought into central school scheme, under Ministry of Education for catering mainly to the education of children of defence employees and other transferable central Govt. Employees. At present there are 1087 Kendriya Vidyalayas spread across the country with more than 11 lakh children enrolled and around 56000 employees. Training and development is an integral part of the human resource development activity for an organization this size. Keeping this training need of the personnel in mind, KVS decided to establish its own Training Institute. Zonal Institute of Education and Training, Mumbai came into existence on 1stApril, 2003 as second training institute of KVS, after Gwalior. At present there are three other such institutes at Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh and Mysore. Technically training involves change in attitude, skills or knowledge of a person with the resultant improvement in the behaviour. For training to be effective, it has to be a planned, activities conducted after a thorough need analysis and target at certain competencies, most important, it is to be conducted in a learning atmosphere. The need for Training and Development The following are the two biggest factors that contribute to the increased need to training and development in organisations: Change: The word change encapsulates almost everything. It is one of the biggest factors that contribute to the need of training and development. There is in fact a direct relationship between the two. Change leads to the need for training and development and training and development leads to individual and organisational change, and the cycle goes on and on. More specifically it is the technology that is driving the need; changing the way how organisations function, compete and deliver. Development: It is again one of the strong reasons for training and development becoming all the more important. Money is not the sole motivator at work and this is especially very true for the 21st century. People who work with organisations seek more than just employment out of their work; they look at holistic development of self. Spirituality and self- awareness for example are gaining momentum world over. People seek happiness at jobs which may not be possible unless an individual is aware of the self. Since its inception, ZIET Mumbai has been making constant endeavours to cater to the training needs of the officers, teachers and non-teaching staff by organizing workshops, orientation courses and in-service courses. There is an Annual Training Calendar prepared and courses are being organized as per schedule. During these courses, course material are prepared and made available to all in print format / CDs / DVDs. Institute is also endeavoring to develop a repository of all such course/ reference manuals videos, ppts, tutorial videos etc so that it is accessible to all. With the goodwill, guidance and support of KVS authorities and co-operation of colleagues, ZIET Mumbai is taking giant strides to achieve the set goal and come up to the expectations of all stakeholders. Warm regards. Mrs Shahida Parveen Deputy Commissioner KVS Bhopal Region

Education is the most onerous responsibility of moulding and shaping a child into a responsible citizen and shaping the destiny of a child is a matter of great pride for each one of us. The main object of education is the establishment of a twofold harmony in every individual – harmony within his own self and harmony with other living beings in the world. So, our goal has always been the personality enrichment through curricular and co-curricular activities. The active participation and co-operation of parents would be extremely essential to achieve the desired results. Keeping the contemporary global and national context in mind, we, at K.V. C.R.P.F. Nayagaon, strive to make the pursuit of excellence a way of life, a habit. We provide a balanced environment focused on shaping children into leaders of tomorrow by offering comprehensive education through a developmental approach. I am confident that the Vidyalaya will keep creating new milestones in its journey ahead. I wish to assure all parents that their child is in very rich academic environment where teaching and learning is a joyful experience. Your child is the most valuable asset for us and we are doing our best to help him/her achieve the best.
